Liverton.

Somewhere different; I don’t think we have another photograph of Liverton or of these cottages which I always knew as Petch’s Cottages am I right? As Jill Gale tells us: ” This is at the corner of Moorsholm Lane with main road. Village hall to far right of picture.” Bill Watkinson tells us: ”I and my family lived in the last one next to Moorsholm Lane from 1968 when we bought it for £2500 and they were known as 4 Petch’s Row then. My Mum and Dad sold up in about 1984 when a motorcyclist was killed in the side garden. The second house in the row was lived in by Mrs Harrison and young Jim her son who worked at the Shrubberies. The house behind the village hall was lived in by a lady with Parkinson’s disease where I used to go to get our Sunday chicken.”

Back row: George Tinkler, ’Do-Do’ Cox, Frank Tyreman, Alan Hart, Eric Hart, ??, Jack Shaw.

Middle row: Jack Ebbs, Mary Hart, Olive Howard, Vi Cox, Cyril Linford, Bob Hart, Eric Green.

Front row: Ted ‘Seaweed’ Breckon, Jack Tinkler, Ivy Tinkler, Bella Blaylock, Miriam Cox, John Elliott, Phyllis Green, Martha Padget.

Can anybody assist with the last missing names?

Skinningrove Gentlemen

Taken in Skinningrove on the streamside outside the Post Office, visible in the background (centre) is the end of Zetland Row and to the left Albion Place (Yon Far Back); and these are Skinningrove men, Norman Walker tells us: ”The men in the picture are from left to right Jethro Beckwith, Harry Walker (my father), unknown, Jim Hodge.”

Skinningrove Gardeners

Skinningrove gardeners, believed to be outside the Allotment Association shed on the hillside above the end of Zetland Row. There is quite a bit of produce on view so could possibly be show time?

Colin Hart tells us: ” I believe the photograph was taken with Primrose Hill (middle and bottom rows) in the background and the cliff and cliff field to the right.”
