We have another copy of the demolition of the chimney at Liverton Mine, which gives the date of the event as Tuesday 24th August 1926. But it is interesting to compare the quality of the two images; our original ’Liverton Mine’ is of much poorer quality!

Delighted to see this picture as it shows both the bungalow in Lower Cleveland Street of my great grandmother Hannah Mary Robinson (nee Bowers) and the terrace house of my grandfather and grandmother and their son Harry junior (Harry Brown and Alice Brown (nee Robinson)). Grandad was in charge of the winding engine until the pit closed in 1923. He kept ducks on the reservoir after the mine closed.
