Mr Lol Trillo selling his home-made ice cream in Tees Street East Loftus, we believe the date to be 1947; Mrs Linton is buying the ice cream for her son David. Cones (or cornets as they were known then) cost 2d for a small cone and 6d for a large cone. This was of course in the days long before decimalisation.

I remember him coming to Moorsholm on a Sunday afternoon in his ice cream van. I used to love his ice cream
His ice-cream van used to stop in Micklow Lane, Loftus in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. My Grandad would send me out to get a cornet with a message; “tell him to push’t ice-cream well down inside’t cornet”.
