The dark haired gent 4th in on the middle row to the left of the photo is my Granny’s brother Isaac Pearson. My Granny was Sarah Pearson from East Loftus, Pearson was her maiden name and also, by coincidence, her married name. The blonde lady next to him is his wife Jessie ( nee Magor) Her parents had the grocers shop on Bank Top. Their home and shop crashed into the valley after subsidence from heavy rain in September1927. They later opened a shop at the other side of the road which Isaac and Jessie took over after they died. Eventually they sold the shop and moved to Whitby where they took on a bed and breakfast place in Whitby. My Mother Margaret remembers it was called Linskill House situated up the steps behind the Black Horse pub on Church Street. She said her Uncle Issac and Aunt Jessie were always immaculately dressed in the latest fashions as you can see from this photo.
