Now that brings back memories. Grew up not far from there (in Guisborough) and would pass it on the (then) B1268 to Saltburn, either by car or on SMS.
I believe that it was not built like that, but is a surviving chapel from an earlier church. I have a vague memory of reading that it was restored by members of the armed forces.
