I think the cutting tells all there is to know about the cottages and men. Sue Swalwell advises: “My two times Great Grandfather, Lot Swalwell, was the Blacksmith here from about 1877 until his death in 1921.

The Swalwells were the Blacksmith just before Mr Severs took over.. I was so hoping it was a photograph of one of the two Lot Swalwell. The elder Lot, my GG Grandfather, died in 1921 and Lot the younger died March 1924
